WALLA WALLA, Wash.- A visitor walking down Main Street in Walla Walla will be enveloped in the sights and sounds of the city. A man plays saxophone on the corner, wine lovers cheers, and foodies stop into their favorite local restaurants. It is a place that makes everyone immediately feel at home.
“What we all try to convey in Walla Walla is what we feel is unique about this community,” said Ron Williams, Executive Director of Visit Walla Walla, “you're going to get wrapped up into the community.”
Williams said most people visit Walla Walla for wine tourism, venturing to the nearly 200 wineries in the small town.
Though there are many options for wine drinkers, the town offers many other options outside of the tasting rooms.
“We're a very small community but there's a huge diversity not only in population but things to do,” said Williams.
He said the sunny weather makes the Walla Walla Valley a perfect destination for outdoor activities, including hiking, swimming, biking, and golfing.
Walla Walla is home to three golf courses, hundreds of hiking trails, and a new Veterans Memorial Swimming Pool for extra hot days.
The Visitor’s Window on Main Street is open seven days a week. Williams hoping people will stop by to discover their personal Walla Walla adventure.
