  Local area Firefighters responded to a reported structure fire at the 700 Block East Nob Hill BLVD. Upon arrival Shift Commander Cole found heavy smoke and fire emitting from the North and southwest sides of a small commercial building.

A Union Gap Fire crew intially forced entry and attacked the fire. Other crews arriving assisted in the fire attack and brought a quick knockdown to this fire. Mutual Aid Fire Departments from East Valley Fire and Rescue, Training Center Fire Department and the Union Gap Fire Departments were dispatched upon the initial report of this fire. There was a commercial structure fire that was on-going nearby at the time that this fire was reported.

No firefighters or civilians were injured at this fire.

East Valley and West Valley Fire Departments had additional units covering the city of Yakima while the two fires were taking place. Both agencies, while "standing by" in Yakima, responded to two medical emergencies in the City.

The Yakima Fire Department would like to express thier thanks to those agencies for thier assistance. The outcome of these incidents could have been significantly worse without thier aid.
