Moses Lake police find 7.7 pounds of meth, heroin during traffic stop

MOSES LAKE, Wash. - Moses Lake recovered almost eight pounds of meth and heroin during a late night traffic stop.

Around 12:45 a.m. Thursday, police pulled over Jose Miranda Jimenez, 27, of Quincy. They noticed evidence of drug possession and consumption in the car.

When asked to get out, he refused and resisted, leading to a short scuffle with police.

Once he was detained, police found 2.7 ounces of heroin stuffed in a condom. They obtained a search warrant and found another three pounds of meth and 4.7 pounds of heroin, which were also stuffed in condoms. 

Additionally, police found scales, packaging materials and receipts from a large international money transfer.

Jimenez was booked into Grant County Jail on charges of meth and heroin possession with intent to deliver along with federal immigration charges and obstructing a law enforcement officer.

The case will be handed to the Drug Enforcement Agency for consideration of federal drug charges.
