Store clerks and customers disarm robber, hold suspect down until police arrive

PASCO, Wash.- Pasco Police Department responded to an armed robbery just after midnight Saturday at the Eastside Super Station on East Lewis Street and North Oregon Avenue. Officers arrived to find the suspect, Lorena Jimenez- Alvarez, being held down by two female clerks, a clerk's husband, and a male customer.

Witnesses told police that Jimenez- Alvarez entered the store carrying a large knife and wearing a hoodie and gloves. She demanded money from one of the clerks before a second clerk came out of a storeroom and grabbed the suspect and held her down.

A customer and another man helped to disarm the suspect and kept her pinned down until police arrived.

Police said Jimenez-Alvarez was treated and evaluated at Lourdes Emergency Room before being booked at Franklin County Jail. She is on hold for Robbery First Degree.
