RICHLAND, Wash. - Many moms know that motherhood is a full time job that can sometimes leaving no time for the little things, but not anymore.
Stroller Strides, a fitness class run by "FIT4MOM Richland," started about two years ago.
"It's a very unique and awesome opportunity because otherwise it would be hard for me to find the time with two kids, to go to the gym and actually get a good workout," said regular Samantha Mason.
"We offer fitness for every stage of motherhood, so there's stroller strides, body back, fit for baby and stroller bar as well," said FIT4MOM Richland - Stroller Strides owner Abigail Macuozet.
Danielle Devasconcellos has been taking classes for about a year now saying it is a chance for her to connect with other moms, but also get the fitness time she wants.
"I've gone to the gym my whole life and so giving that up was tough but I just didn't feel comfortable leaving (my son) at the daycare," said Devasconcellos.
However, just like the other moms, she uses her son to workout while he sits in the stroller.
"This way he gets to see mama work out and he gets to participate in the songs," she said.
Many come for the workouts, but Macuozet said they stay for the friendships.
"Motherhood can be hard, whether you're a working mom or stay at home mom, motherhood can be very very hard and so just building those connections with moms and really getting to know other moms and knowing that you're not alone on the journey of motherhood," she said.
Classes begin at 9:30 a.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and classes are free all this week leading up to Mother's Day.
Next week they will also start classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Columbia Point Marina Park beginning at 9:30 a.m.
