1 dead in morning car crash on I-90 near Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. – One person died in a crash on I-90 near the Four Lakes exit.

Washington State Patrol says a pickup truck pulling a flat bed trailer lost control on eastbound I-90. The trailer detached from the truck, sending the truck down an embankment on westbound I-90. The driver was ejected from the pickup.

Three cars crashed into debris from that crash in the eastbound lanes. There were no major injuries reported in those crashes.

The westbound lanes of I-90 were closed for a time while crews cleared the trailer.

Troopers suspect ice on the interstate may have caused the crash, but they are investigating further.
