FRANKLIN COUNTY, Wash. – A Pasco woman was injured in a collision with a semi-truck Friday morning on a slick Franklin County road.

Authorities said the 25-year-old was eastbound on Ironwood Road before being hit by a southbound semi-truck at North Glade Road. The woman became trapped inside the vehicle and had to be removed before she was rushed to a local hospital. She is expected to survive.

No one else was injured in the crash.

Sgt. Gordon Thomasson with the sheriff’s office said the woman was driving too fast for the slick, icy road conditions.

Glade Road is closed in both directions as of 11:30 a.m. It’s expected to reopen within an hour.

The investigation is ongoing.

FCFD3 responded mutual aid to Glade and Ironwood for a vehicle collision with one person trapped. One person transported.
