14-year-old arrested for armed robbery in Walgreens parking lot
KENNEWICK, Wash. — A 14-year-old boy was arrested Tuesday in connection to Sunday’s armed robbery at a Walgreens parking lot in Kennewick.
Police said two boys set up a meeting to buy a cell phone from an 18-year-old man in the parking lot at West Clearwater Avenue and South Ely Street.
When they met, about 2:45 p.m. Sunday, there was a scuffle over the phone and one of the boys revealed a gun. The suspects then fled from the scene with the phone.
After serving search warrants at apartments on West Bruneau Place and West Clearwater Avenue, police arrested a 13-year-old boy soon after the robbery.
The 14-year-old suspect was arrested at a later date for the robbery and an unrelated felony warrant.
Both suspects were booked at the Benton Franklin Juvenile Justice Center.
