16-year-old shot in the leg in Yakima
YAKIMA, Wash. — Yakima officers are investigating a shooting involving a 16-year-old boy.
Police say the teen was walking near Queen Avenue and MacLaren Street when he was shot in the leg. Officers got the 911 call shortly before 9:30 p.m. Monday about the shooting.
Sgt. Joe Salinas said the teen was taken to the hospital by a private vehicle. He was treated for the gunshot wound, which is believed to be non-life-threatening injury.
The shooting is possibly gang-related, Salinas said. No suspects have been identified at this time.
