19-year-old connected to Kennewick murder arrested

KENNEWICK, Wash. — Officers have arrested a 19-year-old, who they believe is connected to a murder in Kennewick on Saturday night.

Investigators say 21-year-old Patrick Romero was shot and killed near Bruneau Place and Dennis Street around 6 p.m. Kennewick Police say multiple suspects ran off.

Kennewick and Pasco officers tracked down Raheem Mayberry near 19th Avenue and Sylvester Street in Pasco. Two cars associated with Mayberry have been taken and will be searched once a warrant is approved. His home was searched by officers for evidence relating to the crime.

After being questioned, Mayberry was booked into the Benton County Jail for first degree rendering criminal assistance.

The murder investigation is still ongoing. No motive has been released.
