2 escape large blaze that destroyed home near Selah
SELAH, Wash. – Two people escaped from a large house fire near Selah on Wednesday night. The home was a total loss.
The Selah Fire Department responded to the 1000 block of Gore Road near Humann Lane at about 10:40 p.m. for a report that a home was fully involved in flames.
Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed that at least 80% of the home was already destroyed. The two occupants who were home when the fire started were able to get out safely. No one was injured, according to Fire Chief Gary Hanna.
The cause if the fire is under investigation.
Crews were on scene for hours putting out the fire. They finished at about 11:30 a.m. Thursday.
The Yakima County Fire Marshal’s Office is handling the investigation.
Firefighters from the Yakima Fire Department, Gleed Fire Department, East Valley Fire Distrtict and Yakima Training Center assisted at the scene.
