2 masked men rob another Yakima store at gunpoint

YAKIMA, Wash – Yakima Sheriff’s Deputies are looking for two men after an armed robbery at the Ahtanum General Store, 8300 blk of Ahtanum Rd.

Deputies responded to the reports of an armed robbery after the store clerk triggered the holdup alarm and then called 911 to report the store had just been robbed by two men.

Deputies say two men wearing dark clothing and blue bandanas on their faces entered the store, both were carrying a handgun. At the time, there was one clerk working in the store and one customer in the store. The suspects demanded the money and ordered the clerk and customer to the ground. The clerk and customer described the suspects as possibly being Hispanic. One suspect took the cash from the register and then kicked the clerk on his head. The other suspect kicked the customer on the foot before the suspects fled the store on foot. The suspects could be seen running from the store and most likely got into a waiting vehicle parked nearby. No description available on the suspect vehicle.

The clerk and customer were treated at the scene by responding ambulance for minor injuries. The circumstances of this robbery are near identical to the robberies reported in the cities of Yakima and Union Gap. This marks the 22nd armed robbery of the year in Yakima.
