2-year-old girl drowns in Hermiston
HERMISTON, Ore. — A 2-year-old girl has died after drowning in a swimming pool.
On July 5th, officers were called to 1214 East Main Street for a report of a drowning child.
A family member started CPR before police and EMS arrived to the scene but efforts to resuscitate the girl were ineffective.
The girl and her family were visiting from Utah. She had been playing in a yard earlier in the day when she went missing. Following a short search by the family, she was found in an in-ground swimming pool.
At this point, Hermiston Police Captain Travis Eynon believes the child accidentally drowned in the pool.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family during this difficult time,” Captain Travis Eynon said in a press release.
