$200 million french fry facility opens in Richland
RICHLAND, Wash.– Lamb Weston is one of the largest suppliers of potato products in the area and announced it is expanding even more during a ribbon cutting ceremony Monday morning.
The company opened a $200 million processing line in Richland as an expansion to its existing facilities in the area.
The state-of-the-art facility is 290,000 square feet and will be increasing the company’s production of product by 300 million pounds a year. Additionally, Lamb Weston estimates the Richland Line 5 Expansion will create about 150 jobs for the Tri-Cities area.
“We’re just really dedicated to growing and this Richland expansion is really just a sign of that, said Plant Manger, Mark Schuster. “So Lamb Weston is committed to looking at the market, looking at growth, meeting our customer needs and this is part of the plan.”
Lamb Weston reports employment rates of 4,500 people in the Tri-Cities area. The company operates 24 facilities in North America, Europe, and China.
