23-year-old dies after crash on I-90 in Ellensburg


ELLENSBURG, Wash. – A 23-year-old is dead after a crash on I-90 in Ellensburg.

The crash happened Monday morning when the driver, Afredo Calderon-Diaz was allegedly going too fast for conditions eastbound on I-90 near milepost 105.

That’s where he left the road, over corrected and rolled causing the rear passengers to be ejected.

One of those passengers, 23-year-old Karen Calderon-Valencia died after the crash.

18-year-old Jovanny Calderon-Valencia and 48-year-old Maria Calderon were injured and taken to Harborview.

The driver was also injured and taken to Kittitas County Healthcare. He was cited for speeding too fast for conditions.
