Driver and Passenger die in crash on US 395 in Pasco

PASCO, Wash. — A 23-year-old woman died Sunday afternoon in a fatal crash on US 395 in Pasco, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The Washington State Patrol says Karli Moore, 23, was a passenger in a car being pursued by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office around 4:15 p.m. Sunday when the driver crashed into another vehicle.

Washington State Patrol identified the driver as 28-year-old Ricky Cruz.

A report states that the Hyundai Elantra was traveling north on US 395, when Cruz crossed into the southbound lanes near Foster Wells Road and struck another vehicle.

The Washington State Patrol says Cruz was transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center for his injuries.

The report says Moore and Cruz were not wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.

Charges are pending for Cruz.

The Washington State Patrol is continuing to investigate.
