25+ cars hit with eggs in north Richland neighborhoods overnight
RICHLAND, Wash. — Many people in Richland woke up to their cars pelted with eggs and yolk dripping down the side of them. Police are looking for those responsible for the vandalism.
The egging happened sometime between midnight and 8 a.m. Sunday. Multiple streets were hit including Perkins Avenue and Van Giesen Street, Davison Avenue, Willis Street, Howell Avenue and Hodges Court. KAPP-KVEW counted at least 25 cars hit with eggs.
“It’s not very nice to destroy other people’s property,” said Sim Kysar, whose truck was hit with eggs. “I just hope they learn from this and think about what they’re doing.”
Neighbors say they had a hard time getting the eggs off their cars, even after taking it to a car wash. Many are thankful the damage wasn’t worse.
“Think about your own personal property first, think about it if you had a car you really liked and went and did that to and worked by the hour and paid for that vehicle — nobody gave it to you,” Kysar said. “That would make a big difference.”
No one has been arrested for the vandalism. If you have surveillance video or know anything about the incidents, contact Richland Police at (509) 628-0333.
