25-year-old man injured in Yakima gang-related shooting
YAKIMA, Wash. — Yakima police are investigating a drive-by shooting Tuesday evening that left a 25-year-old man injured.
Police responded about 6:30 p.m. to reports of a shooting near South 15th and East Race streets and found the man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his legs. The man was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators later determined that the 25-year-old is a documented gang member and was driving a car with one passenger when he stopped on East Race Street.
Police believe a car full of rival gang members pulled alongside the victim’s car, had some kind of confrontation and then fired into the other vehicle. No arrests have been made.
Authorities are asking anyone with surveillance cameras in the area or any information about the shooting to contact them by calling 911 or the Yakima Police Department.
