3 arrested, 2 still at large following Sunday’s drive-by shooting in Kennewick
KENNEWICK, Wash. — Police are searching for two additional suspects tied to Sunday’s drive-by shooting on East Eighth Avenue.
Javier Valdez, 24, and Nickolas Medelez, 25, are the fourth and fifth suspects who police have been searched for in connection with the shooting.
Police say Valdez is wanted on a nationwide warrant for second-degree assault and unlawful possession of a firearm. He can be identified by his many distinctive face tattoos.
Medelez is wanted for drive-by shooting and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Kennewick police said four cars and two houses were hit near Eighth Avenue and Date Street, but no one was hurt. Police said the shooting appears to be gang-related.
Three people have been arrested in connection to the shooting so far.
On Sunday, police arrested Tomas Hinojosa Jr., 38, on suspicion of unlawful possession of a firearm and two unrelated warrants.
On Tuesday, Andres Tores-Rodriguez, 28, was arrested in Walla Walla on suspicion of unlawful possession of a firearm as well.
Late Tuesday night, Mitchell Talavera, 22, was arrested near Clearwater Avenue and Quay Street in Kennewick for his alleged involvement in the shooting.
