3 including child injured in crash near Toppenish
TOPPENISH, Wash. — Three people including a small child were injured in a crash involving a semi-trailer Wednesday evening.
The Washington State Patrol says Rafael Walle-Gonzalez, 23, ran a stop sign at State Route 97 while driving west on Larue Road just south of Toppenish.
A semi traveling south on the highway hit his Honda Accord in the intersection before 7 p.m..
Walle-Gonzalez and his two passengers, 30-year-old Liliana Cruz-Juarez and a 5-year-old boy, were injured and transported to Virginia Mason Memorial Hospital. Their condition was not released.
All of them are Toppenish residents. None were wearing a seatbelt.
The Washington State Patrol cited Walle-Gonzalez for failing to stop at a stop sign.
The semi-driver, 84-year-old Lyle Wilkes, was not injured.
