86-year-old Selah man struck, killed by SUV while driving scooter
SELAH, Wash. — An 86-year-old Selah man is dead after being struck by an SUV while crossing the street in a small mobility scooter.
Hayden Morrison died of his injuries at Virginia Mason Memorial Hospital later that day.
He was hit by a Chevrolet Suburban while crossing State Route 823 using his Victory Pride scooter, Washington State Patrol said.
The SUV was heading northbound when it struck the man in his scooter crossing westbound.
The driver of the Suburban was Brooke Ashby, 60, of Selah. She left the scene without injury.
The victim’s family has been notified of Morrison’s death.
Intoxicants are not suspected as a factor in the incident. Investigation is still ongoing.
