89-year-old woman walks 15,000th mile at Columbia Center Mall
KENNEWICK, Wash. — She’s almost 90-years-old, but making great strides to stay healthy.
Six days a week, Patsy Hull is at the Columbia Center Mall getting her steps in before the mall opens.
Hull has osteoporosis and has had heart surgery and cancer in the past, forcing her to get her exercise.
She joined the “Kadlec Healthy Ages Mall Walkers” more than 20 years ago and on Monday, she walked her 15,000th mile.
“When I hit the 10,000th, I thought well that’s fine. Now my son is saying 20, I said I will probably be gone!” she said laughing. “For me it’s a matter of, you did it.”
At 1,000 miles, that is equivalent to walking from Seattle to New York City and back two and a half times.
Hull has had a few minor health set backs but plans to continue walking as long as she can.
