Airport officials offer tips to skip long holiday travel wait times
PASCO, Wash. — Over two million people are expected to travel this Thanksgiving, but there are some helpful tips to skip the wait times.
According to Tri-City Airport directors, the busiest times to travel are during the morning hours, 1 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Therefore, they recommend that travelers arrive at least two hours before their flight.
Another key tip airport officials recommend to help avoid long wait times is to download the smartphone application associated with the airline you are planning to fly with, so that you can have your boarding pass on hand. This will also be a great way to monitor any changes to your flight.
Over night parking is $10 a day and holding lots are filling up fast.
TSA also created a new security rule that requires you to place anything bigger than a cellphone in the screening bin.
