Alcohol a factor in late night crash in Kennewick, police say
KENNEWICK, Wash. — The Kennewick Police Department arrested 39-year-old Shannon Leader late Wednesday night after crashing her car into a steel pole while under the influence of alcohol, police say.
Kennewick Police responded to the crash on the 400 block of E Columbia Dr. just before midnight Wednesday.
Police say they received reports of Leader’s car going more than 100 mph before the crash.
Leader and one passenger received medical treatment, but did not have life threatening injuries.
Investigators determined that Leader appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.
After a search warrant was approved, police obtained a blood draw from Leader and sent it to the state lab to be tested.
Leader was booked into the Benton County Jail for DUI and Vehicular Assault.
