Armed man robs Sam’s Corner Market in Milton-Freewater

MILTON-FREEWATER, Wash. — Officers are looking for an armed suspect accused of robbing a market in Milton Freewater.

Police were called shortly before 4 a.m. on Monday to Sam’s Corner Market near Broadway Avenue and Main Street. According to Chief Doug Boedigheimer, an armed man went into the market and demanded money. The cashier gave him the money and the suspect ran off.

Boedigheimer said in a press release that the suspect left with “a substantial amount of money.” The employee was the only one in the store.

No suspect is in custody at this time. The robbery is under investigation.
