Army Reservist from Yakima dies with friend in Missouri crash
Army reservist from Yakima, friend kille — A Yakima woman was one of two Army reservists struck and killed by a car in Missouri on Monday evening.
Warsha Kuman, 18, and her friend Genny Brown, 19, a Missouri native, were both standing by their car along a highway south of St. Louis. Their car had broken down in an unlit area.
Fox 2 Now reports an 84-year-old driver failed to see them and hit their vehicle, which hit both of them, according to Missouri Highway Patrol.
Brown was killed instantly and Kuman a few hours later.
Brown’s mother Christy said the teens were close friends who went through Army training together.
The elderly driver and her 91-year-old passenger were injured but are expected to recover. Authorities said the driver had a clean driving record.
