Attorney General Refuses To Drop Case Against Arlene’s Flowers

All sides are court again to argue the case involving Arlene’s Flowers.

The attorneys for the Richland flower shop owner argued that the states’ attorney general’s case against her and her business be dropped.

The Attorney General filed a consumer protection lawsuit against Baronelle Stutzman for refusing to provide service for a same sex couple’s wedding.

The defense argued the Attorney General does not have the legal jurisdiction to file the lawsuit against Stutzman.

They said the state can’t bring a consumer protection act claim to court unless there is a consumer complaint.

The state said this is not true and argue they have the ability to act before consumer complaints and have done so before.

The judge will not make a decision on this argument today.
