Authorities catch second woman in Freeman parent’s purse theft

UPDATE: Authorities have additionally arrested Renee Mann and Larry Flett for using a Freeman parent’s identity to rack up thousands of dollars in fraudulent purchases, our news partner KXLY reports.

SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane County Sheriff’s Office said they received an overwhelming amount of tips that led to the arrest of 33-year-old Nicole D. Jensen.

On Friday, deputies released pictures of two women they believe stole from the vehicles of Freeman High School parents as they abandoned their cars and rushed to see if their children were safe.

Jensen is believed to be one of those women. Deputies said her and another woman fraudulently cashed checks and used stolen credit cards of the victim’s exceeding $36,000.

On Monday deputies found Jensen at a home on the 2400 block of E. South Riverton where evidence was found connecting her to the crime.

Jensen was arrested and charged with identity theft, three counts of forgery, two counts of 2nd degree possession of stolen property, two counts of 3rd degree theft and an active Airway Heights warrant for criminal trespass.

Detectives have identified the other suspect, but are still looking for her. Detectives also believe there may be additional suspects involved and further arrests and charges are expected.
