Autopsy shows cause of death for teen stabbed at Valley Mall
UNION GAP, Wash. – An autopsy performed Tuesday revealed the cause of death of a 16-year-old boy who was stabbed to death at the Valley Mall over the weekend.
The Yakima County Coroner’s Office said David Reyes Jr. bled out from a stab wound to the torso.
Reyes was stabbed in the upstairs Macy’s bathroom at the mall late Saturday afternoon. He died at Astria Regional Hospital in Yakima, according to Union Gap police.
After the stabbing, three boys ran from the Macy’s to a nearby Rite Aid. They were taken into custody for questioning, but have been released pending further investigation.
The boys are considered persons of interest in the case.
