Autopsy shows woman was strangled to death at West Richland apartment
WEST RICHLAND, Wash. — An autopsy performed on Tuesday shows that a Pasco woman found dead at a Fairway Manor Apartments over the weekend was killed by strangulation.
The Benton County Coroner’s Office says Alisa Brewer, 53, also suffered major blunt force injuries to the head, face and neck before she died inside an apartment near 39th Avenue and Fallon Drive early Sunday morning.
Evidence at the scene indicates that Brewer was strangled by 24-year-old William Lee with a leather belt while apparently having sex.
The nature of their relationship is under investigation.
Court documents say Lee called 911 from the apartment and admitted to killing Brewer, then threatened to kill himself. He was convinced to surrender to West Richland police with help from a Tri-City Regional SWAT crisis negotiator.
Lee has been booked at the Benton County Jail on charges of second-degree murder and second-degree assault.
