THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE IS TRANSMITTED AT THE REQUEST OF THE WALLOWA
AVALANCHE CENTER JOSEPH OREGON.

A STRONG WARM FRONT WILL IMPACT THE NE OREGON MOUNTAINS TODAY WITH
6-12″ OF SNOW EXPECTED ABOVE 7,000′. MODERATE TO STRONG WINDS WILL
ACCOMPANY THE FRONT AND CREATE TOUCHY WIND SLABS ON NE-E-N ASPECTS.
THE NEW SNOW AND WINDS COULD ALSO OVERLOAD THE PERSISTENT WEAK LAYER
NOW BURIED 2′ ON ALL ASPECTS ABOVE 7,000′. TRAVEL IN AND AROUND
AVALANCHE TERRAIN IS NOT ADVISED FOR TODAY FOR THE BLUE MOUNTAINS,
WALLOWAS AND ELKHORNS.
