THE NORTHWEST AVALANCHE CENTER HAS ISSUED AN AVALANCHE WARNING…

TIMING… IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM THURSDAY JANUARY 11.

LOCATION… THE WEST AND EAST SLOPES OF THE WASHINGTON CASCADES
INCLUDING MT BAKER, STEVENS PASS, SNOQUALMIE PASS, PARADISE, WHITE
PASS, AND MT HOOD.

AVALANCHE DANGER… THE AVALANCHE DANGER TODAY IS EXPECTED TO BE
HIGH THURSDAY IN ALL ELEVATION BANDS IN THESE AREAS.

REASON… STRONG STORM SYSTEM WITH HEAVY SNOW, RAIN AND STRONG WINDS
ON THURSDAY WILL RESULT IN WIDESPREAD AVALANCHES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… BACKCOUNTRY TRAVEL IS NOT
RECOMMENDED IN AREAS WITH A HIGH AVALANCHE DANGER.
