Barnes and Noble raising money for Domestic Violence Services
KENNEWICK, Wash. — Domestic Violence Services of Benton and Franklin Counties (DVSBF) is partnering with Barnes and Noble for the first time to raise money for their programs.
February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month so they are hosting the ‘Love Like This’ event at the Kennewick Barnes and Noble on Saturday, Feb. 8 starting at 11 a.m.
Teen and family advocates will be there to educate people on healthy relationships, toxic signs to look for and ways of prevention. Plus there will be Valentine’s Day crafts and a Dungeons and Dragons tournament in the afternoon.
DVSBF provides wrap around services including a 24-hour crisis line, emergency shelter, legal advocacy and clinics, counseling and community education for all ages.
It takes over $1 million to keep their programs and shelter running each year so a portion of the proceeds from the event will go back towards DVSBF.
