Beef Handout in Yakima Sees Higher Number Of People Than Expected

Local farmers and ranchers got together yesterday to help families in Toppenish and Yakima.

Here is what the line looked like in Yakima as people were served free dairy, fruits, vegetables and beef.

Less than four percent of food bank donations are high quality protein like beef so these boxes are a rare commodity that will feed these families for days.

This year they loaded up four hundred boxes for people in Yakima.

The beef counts mobile food distribution will head to Ellensburg today–that will take place at the Washington Cattlemen’s Association office at 1301 N. Dolarway Road from noon until 2:00 pm.
