Benton County deputies seize $1.6 million of marijuana
Deputies seized 1,600 marijuana plants from a property in Benton City on Tuesday morning. The plants have an estimated street value of $1.6 million.
Two unlicensed grow operations were found on the property after deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at 46712 N. 9th Street on Monday.
During the investigation, they got an arrest warrant for the suspect and stumbled on the grow operations.
Deputies and gang team members with the Benton County Sheriff’s Office obtained an additional search warrant for the grow operations.
They also found the marijuana was being watered with unmetered water tapped from the Benton Irrigation District’s irrigation line.
All suspects involved in the crime have been identified.
No arrests have been made yet and the investigation is ongoing.
