Benton County Sheriff’s Office to host first ‘Pack the Patrol Car’ school supply drive
KENNEWICK, Wash. — The Benton County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) is hosting the first ‘Pack the Patrol Car’ school supply drive this Saturday and they are asking the community for donations.
Officials are requesting pens, pencils, crayons, backpacks, and any kind of school supplies you can imagine — ideally brand new and in the original packaging.
All donations will benefit students in Finley, Whitstran, and Patterson, a news release said.
“You know inflation is occurring and so budgets are a little tighter and so if you have a little extra that you can give to help out students in our area it is appreciated not only by us, not only by their parents but by the students themselves,” said BCSO Lieutenant Jason Erickson. “When they feel confident that they can go to the first day of school with school supplies and feel like they’re a part of the group and not missing something, that’s a huge thing for kids.”
If you want to donate, you can drop off supplies during the drive on Aug. 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Patrol cars will be at the Kennewick Walmart, the KIBE Market in Benton City, and NW Farm Supply in Prosser. You can also donate supplies at the Benton County Sheriff’s Office in Kennewick.
