Monica loves telling stories – whether that be through newscasts, documentaries, or the songs she writes. She was born in Boulder, Colorado and raised in sunny San Diego, California. Monica is now happy to be living in Benton County, Washington where she joined KAPP-KVEW’s news team in May 2019.

Monica’s passion for news started at Chapman University, where she studied Broadcast Journalism and Documentary Production. She started off as a reporter and entertainment producer for the university’s newscast, and worked her way up to executive producer, leading 30+ students.

She has held internships with Ryan Seacrest Studios, Smart Money Talk Radio, and ABC7 Los Angeles, to name a few. Her documentary, ‘Alzheimer’s: A Love Story’, has garnered attention around the world, landing a spot in the 2016 Cannes Film Festival.
