Deputies: No foul play suspected for man found dead in the river near Pasco

UPDATE — The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office has released additional information in connection with a body found Saturday afternoon in the river near Pasco.

Deputies said no foul play is suspected in the death of a man found floating in the confluence of the Snake and Columbia rivers.

The man’s identity has not been released, but deputies said they are still trying to locate the man’s next of kin.


PASCO, Wash. — Authorities have opened an investigation into a body found Saturday afternoon floating in the river southeast of Pasco.

According to the Pasco Police Department, the body was seen floating in the water where the Snake and Columbia rivers meet and was quickly recovered by the Pasco Fire Department.

Authorities did not say whether the body has been identified or provide additional information about the circumstances under which the body was found.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office will be the lead agency on this investigation.
