UPDATE: One-year-old child located in Union Gap, reunited with family

UPDATE at 11:45 a.m. on 5/29/22: The Yakima Police Department (YPD) has released more details about a child that went missing when a car was stolen out of Yakima on Sunday morning.

A community member in Sunnyside spotted the GMC Acadia, but the child was not located in the car at the time. YPD says the child is still missing.

YPD has released additional details about the missing one-year-old: the child is a hispanic female, about 20 pounds, 2’4″, brown hair, with blue/green eyes. She was last seen with a white onesie with fruit on it. Her name is Freya.

Officials are currently questioning the driver of the car to determine if they are the suspect who stole the car originally.

YAKIMA, Wash. — Yakima Police Department (YPD) say a car that was stolen this morning had a one-year-old child in the back seat.

According to officials, the car was stolen around the area of 3rd Avenue in Yakima at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday, May 29th.

YPD says the car is a 2014 GMC Acadia with license plates BTW5401.

The child in the photo is wearing different clothes.
