‘It’s just amazing’ no one was hurt after car crashes into Fred Meyer in Yakima, official says
YAKIMA, Wash. — A woman crashed a car through the side of the Fred Meyer supermarket on North 40th Avenue on Wednesday. Miraculously, no one was hurt.
Yakima Police spokesman Randy Beehler said the 40-year-old woman crashed through glass window panes on the side of the building near the Starbucks coffee stand inside the store before 1 p.m.
The woman was shaken up but was conscious and alert following the crash. She was taken to a local hospital by ambulance “out of an abundance of caution,” Beehler said.
Police suspect the woman had a medical emergency, but they are still investigating the cause of the crash.
Beehler said “it’s just amazing” that nobody was injured in this crash.
