Car Prowlers Arrested Late Last Night in Kennewick

Date and Time of Incident: January 31st at about 11:50 pm
Summary of Incident : Kennewick, Wa.
Officers responded to the area of the J-building at Hawaiian Village regarding a possible vehicle prowl that just occurred. The female (age 18 of Kennewick) victim called to report that she heard some noise outside her apartment. She stepped outside and noticed someone inside her car. She confronted the suspect, who ran into apartment #F167 with several other males. Officers contacted the apartment and detained several subjects to include Ty Cornwell (age 30 of Walulla) and Brittany Sanchez (age 28 of Kennewick). Sanchez was found hiding in a pile of clothing. She did not comply with officer’s orders and resisted arrest. Sanchez and Cornwell were found to have warrants. A search warrant was completed to collect car prowl tools located in the apartment. An investigation determined that Cornwell used a shaved car key to enter the victim’s vehicle. He was booked on for vehicle prowling and the warrants. Sanchez was booked on her warrants and resisting arrest.
