Cat found covered in apparent spray paint, Tri-Cities Animal Shelter says

TRI-CITIES, Wash. – A cat named Rufus was found covered in what appeared to be spray paint on Thursday afternoon, according to the Tri-Cities Animal Shelter.

The shelter posted photos of the cat on their Facebook page, saying Rufus is a “community cat” and that paint can be harmful to him.

“Why would anyone do something so cruel?,” the shelter wrote. “Maybe it was a child not knowing the hazards of toxic paint.”

The shelter said anyone who sees an act like this being committed should contact them immediately.
