Everett man, 84, accused of killing his missing tenant

Authorities say an 84-year-old Everett-area man is suspected of fatally shooting one of his tenants, who remains missing. The Daily Herald reports Lloyd Richmond was booked into Snohomish County Jail Friday for investigation of murder. The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office says the presumed victim is a 49-year-old Everett man who was last heard from on Aug. 28. The sheriff's office says neighbors reported hearing an argument between Richmond and a tenant Aug. 28 before hearing gunshots. Investigators believe Richmond then moved the body from the home. Richmond's attorney Samantha Sommerman argued Tuesday there was no probable cause for the murder charge because there's no body, weapon or eyewitnesses. His bail was set at $1 million.

1 shot in foot after groups clash in Olympia

Police say a man was shot in the foot after two groups clashed in Olympia, Washington. Olympia Police Chief Aaron Jelcick told The Olympian on Sunday that people against vaccine requirements for state workers gathered Saturday at the state Capitol Campus, while right-wing extremist group the Proud Boys and a group opposed to them engaged with one another in different downtown locations. Jelcick says at about 3 p.m., several gunshots were heard, and one of those bullets struck a man in the foot and people fled. The police chief says initial investigation shows the person shot is a prominent member of the Proud Boys. Jelcick says the man was taken to a hospital.
