Central Washington University grad to compete in Miss USA competition
ELLENSBURG, Wash. — From Central Washington University to now heading to Las Vegas, Nevada to compete in the Miss USA 2017 Pageant, Cassie Lewis has had quite the journey to the stage.
She was crowned Miss Idaho USA 2017 this past Fall, and will compete in the nationwide competition on May 14th at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.
She studied fashion design and merchandising in college, and said competing in pageants further helped her gain valuable life skills.
“They offer a lot of experiences in public speaking and giving back to the community,” said Lewis.
She comes from a military family and has been heavily involved in military volunteer work. She has also expressed passions for helping young people reach their goals. She said pageants are great for honing skills in the workforce and beyond.
“I definitely encourage young women to get involved…its great in promoting interview skills and personal skills, and developing your professional growth as well.”
Miss USA 2017 will be the 66th Miss USA pageant.
