City of Milton-Freewater issues mandatory evacuations due to flooding

MILTON-FREEWATER, Ore. – Mandatory evacuations are in place in Milton-Freewater on Friday morning due to flooding.

According to city staff, the evacuations are in place for everywhere east of Highway 11 and South Main to the river.

If you are being evacuated in Milton-Freewater and are unable to get to shelter the city transportation system is providing rides. They say to walk to South Main and wait at the bus shelters and you will be picked up.

“If you are elderly or disabled and can’t walk to a shelter, call City Hall at 541-938-5531 to give us an address and you will be picked up,” city staff wrote in a statement.
