City passes food truck ordinance

RICHLAND, Wash.– The Richland City Council voted unanimously Tuesday night to approve an ordinance that will allow food truck vendors to operate in more places throughout the city.

Ordinance 48-17 will lessen the restrictions on where food truck vendors can set up and sell their food.

Previously, food trucks could not park and operate in designated “General Business” areas, which only encompassed a small portion of the city limits.

The ordinance will allow food trucks in most commercial areas and legalize many currently non-conforming businesses.
