Cloudy and chilly Wednesday. Rain showers mainly east. -Kristin

Wet weather will continue for parts of the area this afternoon and evening. The best chance of rain showers today: Tri-Cities and east into the foothills of the Blues. A Winter Storm Warning continues for the Blues until 4PM this afternoon. Not much of a warm-up this afternoon with highs in the mid 40’s. A few more showers possible tonight into Thursday. Highest chances stay east of the Tri-Cities. Winds will be breezy next few days. Thursday look for wind gusts up to 30 MPH.

Snow showers continue in the mountains today. Snow levels will climb to 6000 to 7000 feet by tonight. With the rain and snowmelt, it will cause a rapid rise on area rivers. We could see rivers, creeks and streams rising Thursday and Friday; cresting late Friday into early Saturday. At this time, no widespread flooding is expected on large rivers. But, minor flood impacts might be seen in the headwaters of the Yakima River northwest of Cle Elum.
