College Place police find meth inside man’s fanny pack
COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. — A bicyclist is behind bars after police find meth in his fanny pack in College Place.
It all happened near Southeast Larch Avenue and Southeast 4th Street on Tuesday night, when police saw the man riding his bike without reflectors.
They stopped 57-year-old Richard Perez, and found he had a warrant out of Walla Walla.
As they were handcuffing him, Perez told police the bike and a fanny pack attached to it were not his.
Police ran the serial number of the bike and found that Perez was actually the owner.
Police then say Perez asked to take the fanny pack with him to jail, but inside, police found 2.6 grams of meth.
Now, Perez faces potential charges of possession of a controlled substance.
