Columbia Basin Ice Incorporated revamps ice industry
KENNEWICK, Wash. — A local company is revamping an industry to meet the growing demand for ice.
Columbia Basin Ice Incorporated hosted its grand opening Wednesday in Kennewick to showcase its upgraded facility with the community.
Owners say there are two qualities making their ice production faster, easier and state of the art.
“Number one it’s the people that we hire and then number two it’s the technology that we put into the project,” Owner of Columbia Basin Ice Incorporated David Mcdaniels said.
The cost of the whole facility is roughly $7 million dollars.
The new machinery is making operations safer and more efficient and it also allows production of 250 to 275 tons of ice per day.
