Community volunteers work together to make Sacajawea State Park shine
Sacajawea State Park
PASCO, Wash. — Saturday the Sacajawea State Park in Pasco was prepped for the upcoming season after community groups and volunteers worked together to clean up the park.
Members from all ages were out raking leaves, trimming branches and hauling trash away from the park.
One volunteer wanted to help preserve everything Sacajawea State Park has to offer.
“This is where our history is, so we should keep our history very nice and pretty so that when people come over here they don’t think we don’t care about it. We do care about it, and we want to keep it nice,” park volunteer Jazmyne Casper said.
Sacajawea State Park also has many outdoor self-guided interpretive displays, as well as framework representations of Native American dwellings, and an on-site Sacajawea interpretive center for all to enjoy.
Volunteers just hope everyone in the community will do their part in helping keep the park shiny clean.
